I have a rather large number of digital copies just sitting around gathering dust until I can find an accessible way to play them.LOS ANGELES, Aug. If anyone has knowledge of this working and can give information on how to set all of this up, I would love to know. I am hoping that if Apple does not make some kind of deal with the Ultraviolet group, they will include Apple TV versions of these apps, but until something like that happens streaming through Airplay seems to be the only possible hope. Rumors are flying that a new model of the Apple TV is to be announced and that this new model and also the older models through firmware update will actually have an app store. The second question then would be, if either or both of the apps are accessible, can one stream content from these apps over Airplay to the Apple TV? The first question I have is whether or not the iPhone/iPad apps are accessible since there are no apps for the Apple TV yet. This development has me looking into Ultraviolet compatible apps, the main ones being Flixster and Vudu. The big ones dumping iTunes support are Warner Brothers and Sony, and others may or may not follow suit. In the past they would either have the code work for Ultraviolet or for iTunes or they would provide an alternate code if an iTunes user asked for one. I've become really frustrated because several of the studios that offer a free Ultraviolet digital copies of their Blu-ray releases have disallowed use of their codes for iTunes copies.
